Shortly after the Germans entered Kielce in September 1939, the Germans began repressing Poles and Jews. German soldiers robbed Jewish apartments, organized roundups, and forced labor was introduced. Jews were sent to the worst jobs and forced to wear a six-pointed star on their clothes.
